Stephanie recently participated in the Bridge2AI Voice Summer School at Washington University in St. Louis. The program focused on exploring the use of bioacoustic data, specifically voice, to help diagnose neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric disorders. Stephanie’s work culminated in a hackathon at the University of South Florida (USF), where she applied her skills to tackle healthcare challenges in diagnostics and voice data ethics.
The Bridge2AI project is a groundbreaking initiative that brings together students and professionals from various fields to examine how AI can be applied to voice data for healthcare diagnostics. Voice, as a health indicator, is becoming increasingly important in the development of tools for screening and monitoring diseases like Parkinson’s, depression, and respiratory conditions.
